Imagination, inspiration, playfulness, and creativity sometimes lurk in the dark areas that can be difficult to navigate, but often we learn to depend on. Ms. Darcy has been drifting through these spaces "in-between," visiting "play-scapes" and memory ever since she was kicked out of Vancouver, B.C. when her student visa expired. Since then, her paintings and collage work have shifted along the precarious line between portraiture and abstraction.

combining knitting samples and sewn embroidery with her drawings and paintings.
