About Ms. Darcy Friendly Tacoma Artist for Hire
Raised in Alaska, trained in Canada and relocated to Tacoma, Washington my artistic development has shifted along the precarious line between portraiture and abstraction. Familiar imagery of my misty Pacific Northwest environment can not be avoided in my color palette. An old friend used to tease me by saying that I am an "automatic scientist" or rather, a doctor of humorous observation.
As I trespass through the sensitive places of human strength and weakness, I gather the personal, translating the moments that bring me closer to an understanding of how I fit into this world.
